In the United States, children wear costumes on Halloween (October 31) and go trick-or-treating. Spooky stories, fortune telling, carving jack-o-lanterns and bobbing for apples are some of the traditions of Halloween. In England and Ireland, people once carved out beets, potatoes and turnips to use as lanterns on Halloween. According to an Irish legend, jack-o-lanterns were named for a man named Jack, who could not enter heaven because he was a miser. He could not enter hell either, because he had played jokes on the devil. So instead, he had to walk the earth with his lantern until Judgment Day.
Spending time working on my site and improving it is peaceful and relaxing. Spending time making this site the best helps me escape my worries and gives me the feeling of getting back to something basic and important.
